Stuart Scott (1948 – 2021), Founder

Regretfully Stuart Scott passed away in July of 2021. Please note that this site will be decommissioned in December of 2023. The work that Stuart began continues in many forms through the following organizations:

Scott brought four decades of varied personal and professional experience to the UPFSI.  He was a deep-ecologist, strategist, educator and communicator.  He was the first environmentalist stockbroker on Wall Street (Merrill Lynch, 1977); founded an IT consultancy for major NYC banks (BITS Inc., 1981), later a software engineer for IBM, and then a college professor of mathematics, statistics, and critical thinking.  He then started a career of service to humanity and the ecology of Earth as ecological strategist, organizer, and international speaker with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project.  He was the Founder and Director of the Interfaith Declaration on Climate Change, Deputy Director General of the International Ecological Safety Collaborative Organization (IESCO), and served as Chief Ecological Officer of NagaCorp, Ltd.

Charles Gregoire, IT, Webmaster & Assistant Communications.

Charles is a retired Electrical Engineer, Musician and has been a volunteer with both Facing Future and Climate Emergency Forum since 2018. He applies his knowledge and experience working with technology to help with miscellaneous IT, website development, and video production tasks.

Hugo van der Poel, Web Consultant

Hugo van der Poel completed his B.A. in International Business and Management Studies (IBMS) at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands. During his studies he mainly focusing on project management in the non-profit sector.  He is experienced in website development, video editing, and graphic design and consults for UPFSI with his wide range of applicable skills.
